本節課要求了解一個(gè)概念:什么是代溝。

介紹和練習三種閱讀技巧:理解標題預測內容,用跳讀的方式了解文章結構及作者觀(guān)點(diǎn),根據上下文理解生詞意思。

一個(gè)符合兩綱要求的教育基點(diǎn):用愛(ài),理解和交流處理好父母子女兩代人的關(guān)系。

1. Warming-up

What’s a generation gap?

T: There is a gap in the wall, Is the wall beautiful? Is it safe?

T: Sometimes there is also a gap between our parents and us, for example, in the previous text “Father and Son”, Luo Kahing likes making films but his parents want him to get good results in his exams.. There is a conflict between them, how about your parents and you?

Ask them to find words in the passage to take the place of the words underlined.

A gap in the wall

Since the wall has a gap, people want to repair it, to narrow the gap, or to remove the gap.

The gap is common and natural in our life, and it usually leads to conflicts, quarrel, unhappiness. So what can we do to narrow the gap? Read the text, and it will give us some suggestions. 通過(guò)展現墻上的裂縫,引出gap一詞的意思,進(jìn)而啟發(fā)思考:父母與子女在某些方面的分歧,矛盾也是一種gap,叫做generation gap.

Generation gap is a term coined by sociologists in the 1960s to describe differences in beliefs and values, family and friends, work and study, career and life goals between young adults and their parents.

Here we have new words, and what will you do if you meet with new words when reading?

S: The gap is not always negative. The gap can help people realize their own problems, e.g. lack of respect, lack of communication, lack of tolerance of imperfection and so on.

2) the generation gap is a very natural thing, and a positive attitude and communication between parents and children will help.

S: problems get solved, personalities change, conflicts turn into harmony and the family thrives.

結合新課程標準和高考重點(diǎn)的趨勢,閱讀在高中英語(yǔ)教學(xué)中有著(zhù)越來(lái)越重要的作用。在高一,高二給學(xué)生介紹一定的閱讀方法,結合文章閱讀進(jìn)行閱讀技能的培養非常重要。

在牛津英語(yǔ)教材中,閱讀技巧主要是skimming和scanning,每篇課文都訓練到這兩個(gè)技能來(lái)理解文章大意和一些細節問(wèn)題。學(xué)生在閱讀實(shí)際中,通過(guò)快讀掌握大意,通過(guò)尋讀尋找細節,基本掌握了這兩項閱讀技巧。但是,要提高閱讀速度和獲得準確的信息,這兩個(gè)閱讀技巧是遠遠不夠的。通過(guò)閱讀和總結,我覺(jué)得還有以下幾點(diǎn)基本閱讀技能要求學(xué)生掌握:預測。(根據標題預測內容,根據上文預測下文或結果)根據上下文猜新詞意思?偨Y文章大意或段意。理解文章結構。讀懂作者意圖和觀(guān)點(diǎn)。讀出詞或句的隱含意義。

在本課中,以L(fǎng)ove Narrows the Gap為載體,訓練了學(xué)生根據上下文理解詞義的技巧,改變他們碰到生單詞就查詞典,浪費時(shí)間的方法。同時(shí),將英文解釋帶到課文中去翻譯文中三個(gè)長(cháng)句,加深對詞匯的理解,也熟悉了該文中長(cháng)句的意思,降低了閱讀的難度。在六個(gè)猜詞題目中,注意了老師先示例,學(xué)生后練習,在核對檢驗的過(guò)程,讓學(xué)生在猜詞過(guò)程中有一定的梯度,不會(huì )覺(jué)得很難。

第二,教師對標題的提問(wèn),啟發(fā)學(xué)生分析標題。學(xué)生在回答提問(wèn)過(guò)程中發(fā)現作者在文中就是圍繞標題來(lái)寫(xiě)的。所以,分析標題就能預知全文內容,體現了認真閱讀標題的重要性。通過(guò)標題的問(wèn)答,學(xué)生清楚地了解了文章的結構布局是由代溝概念---對待代溝的態(tài)度--- 怎樣縮小代溝來(lái)謀片布局的。特別是第三段,作者的觀(guān)點(diǎn)句是首句:The gap is not always negative. 緊接著(zhù)是支撐:The gap can help people realize their own problems, e.g. lack of respect, lack of communication, lack of tolerance of imperfection and so on.通過(guò)對學(xué)生分析文章的布局結構,讓學(xué)生更好的理解作者主旨。

第三,通過(guò)上海中學(xué)生星報的一篇有關(guān)代溝的同話(huà)題文章的閱讀,指導學(xué)生利用剛剛學(xué)過(guò)的閱讀技巧來(lái)為段落配標題,尋找作者的觀(guān)點(diǎn)及其支撐句,現學(xué)現用,效果較好。
